Canadian mobile phone carrier Rogers Wireless announced today the launch of a new series of data plans for its users, dubbed North America One Rate. According to the company, the new plans are meant to meet the needs of its business and consumer customers, and will offer additional cost certainty to those traveling to the United States. In addition, the new plans also deliver flexibility and convenience for a handset's data capabilities, including email, mobile web surfing, downloading documents.

The new North American One Rate plans from Rogers are available over a wide range of plan sizes and come with a cost that is only $10 more a month than the Canada-only equivalents. “Any data usage in the U.S. deducts from the customer's overall monthly data allotment, offering cost certainty and peace of mind for customers spending substantial amounts of time south of the border,” the carrier notes. Moreover, it also states that, based on the amount of travel and usage, the new plans should offer users the possibility to save hundreds or even thousands of dollars a year.

The guys over at MobileSyrup centralized the newly launched plans from Rogers, and they look as in the list below:
$20 per month: Personal Email on BlackBerry (Canadian and U.S.)
$35 per month: Consumer or Small business BlackBerry (BIS) 500MB Canadian and U.S.
$35 per month: Consumer or Small business 500MB Canadian and U.S. Data Plan
$40 per month: Consumer or Small business BB (BIS) 1GB Canadian and U.S. Plan
$40 per month: Consumer or Small business 1GB Canadian and U.S. Data Plan
$45 per month: 500MB Canadian and U.S. Mobile Internet Flex Rate Plan

$55 per month: Corporate BlackBerry (BES) 1GB Canadian and U.S. Plan
$55 per month: Corporate BB (BES) 500 MB Canadian and U.S. Flex Rate Plan

According to Rogers, the new plans are added to its offering, which also includes various other wireless roaming solutions like Travel Packs for text messaging, or voice and data to the U.S. and other countries. The new plans are designed mainly for those frequent US travelers, but Rogers' users can also enjoy the Travel Packs from the carrier, which are meant for those who travel to other countries around the world. If you are interested in learning additional details on the newly announced North American One Rate wireless data plans, you should head over to Rogers' website here.

this is awesome if it's true. Getting an iphone in Fall, 2011 when the new one comes out. The company with the best North American package and realization that we like to travel and use our phones while we do so without getting a huge bill when we come home will be getting my business.
