The Rockstar Vancouver team might start working on a new project

Rockstar Games might start work on a new Bully title after it will release Max Payne 3 next March, as the studio is quite fond of the property that saw life back in 2006.

Rockstar, while famous for developing the blockbuster Grand Theft Auto series, has released all sorts of games over the years, from extremely popular ones including Red Dead Redemption, to the likes of the Midnight Club racing series, which still had quite a few fans.

Among its more offbeat titles is Bully, which was released back in 2006 for the PlayStation 2, and arrived after that for platforms like the PC, Xbox 360 or Wii, in the form of Bully: Scholarship Edition.

While it didn't generate really huge sales, the game might soon see a sequel, with Rockstar Games co-founder and vice president, Dan Houser, telling Gamasutra that the team at its Vancouver studio was in no rush to make a sequel for the game but, after work's done on the current Max Payne 3 game, such a project might appear.

"We knew that we didn't want to start doing the Bully sequel instantly at that second with [the Vancouver] guys -- even though it is a property that, like Max, we adore and might come back to in the future. There was just no impetus to do that then," he revealed.

"So we said, 'You can do Max, and then we will see what we can do with Bully.' So it was really waiting for the slot to open up and the group to open up to at least start work on it."

Max Payne 3 is, like Rockstar revealed earlier this year, a joint effort between all of the company's global studios so even the Vancouver team is onboard to get the new cinematic shooter ready for its intended release date of March, 2012.

After that, Rockstar North is expected to continue working on Grand Theft Auto V, which was announced earlier this month, while other teams can start working on other games, including Bully 2.
