Looks good, but still no word on the pricing

Designed to replicate the exact original guitar, the Fender Strat is said to come complete with a toggle switch, allowing Rock Band gamers to manipulate sound through reverb, flange, wah, delay etc. Courtesy of Evil Avatar, the pictures you see on the left show exactly how it looks and works. Quite different from the Gibson huh?

Rumors of Rock Band setting fans back $150 to $250 still have been neither officially confirmed nor dismissed by either EA, Harmonix or MTV. This should confirm that the price for the full package is going to be somewhere in between the two rumored prices. Given that this exceptionally-looking guitar is going to be the only available controller of the sort, Rock Band fans shouldn't expect a bargain. However, GamesIndustry.biz had Harmonix shedding some light on the matter a few weeks ago. Here's what they had to say:

"I think when it's just rumour [about the pricing] and no one has anything tangible to hold on to, people can be afraid - but the fact is we're very conscious of it, and we're doing our best to make it awesome and affordable," explained Harmonix art director Ryan Lesser.

OK, now let's see how much the full gear for having a good time with Rock Band costs, including the game of course:

- Rock Band (game) - $59.99 - Rock Band drums set - $79.99 - Rock Band microphone - $49.99 - Rock Band guitar controller - $59.99 - Rock Band wireless guitar - $79.99

Don't add them up just yet. The last two are either wireless or not wireless so it's your choice, but it still comes up to a staggering $250 if we're to believe these prices. Surely, the game is great and all, but it can't cost as much as a Wii. The developer should be shedding some light on this issue any day now.
