February is the magic month

The gaming industry has quite a lot of iconic franchises, which have pushed gaming to a whole new level in terms of gameplay or story. One such series is Capcom's Resident Evil, which took survival horror shooters to new heights as it brought innovations to gameplay and introduced an intricate story that is still being explored today.

The latest iteration in the franchise, Resident Evil 5, promises to be a true sequel to the events in the first game and places the main character, Chris Redfield, in an African country where genetic experiments took a turn for the worse and almost all of the inhabitants are now getting a hunger for human flesh. The game is slated to appear in March, and saw a demo released for it in Japan.

We recently reported about the fact that the demo would appear on the North American Xbox 360 Live Marketplace on January 26, and it now seems that PlayStation 3 owners will get their own taste of the zombie shooter game on February 2, on a Monday, and not on the usual Thursday when Sony brings new content to the PlayStation Store.

Also, it seems that Capcom has brought new photos of the North American Collector's Edition of the game, which promises to deliver, for just 89.99 dollars, quite a lot of things that any true Resident Evil fan would want. Among those, a steel case covered with Kijuju writing, which contains the game and the bonus disc with art, trailers and behind the scenes content, a Chris Redfield figurine, a BSAA patch, a Kijuju-inspired pendant and, last but not least, in order to carry all of these things, a Tricell messenger bag.

It definitely seems that Capcom is pulling out all the stops in order to ensure that gamers will get something actually worthwhile in exchange for their precious extra dollars and, as such, it is offering a lot of things. Let's hope that the demo of the game will appear soon and that, until March, it will satisfy our zombie-killing need.
