Activision has announced that its upcoming DJ Hero is set to get a special Renegade Edition that will offer gamers a more complex experience than the basic edition, while packing in quite a bit of extra content.

All those who pick up the Renegade Edition will get what is described as the “premium” edition of the turntable controller, a DJ stand that can be converted into the stylish hard case, which you can see in the picture attached to this article and, last but not least, an exclusive two CDs featuring tracks created by hip hop superstars Eminem and Jay-Z.

The two CDs will be encased in a unique cover created by Sheperd Fairey, who has also created the now iconic Obama campaign poster in blue, white and red, and will be offering players a chance to hear unreleased tracks from the two artists, which were designed specifically with DJ Hero in mind.

Activision has not said for how much this new Renegade Edition of DJ Hero will be sold and the basic edition also lacks a price. It's sure that the game will be coming this fall. DJ Hero is set to be an expansion of the already successful Guitar Hero brand, allowing people who love hip hop, electronic and dance music to mix and match around 100 tracks and experience playing back some 90 unique mixes created specifically for the game. There will be five difficulty modes, each tougher allowing the player to control more aspects of the title.

The Renegade Edition sound, good but during these rather tough economic times, it's unclear whether potential players will be ready to spend the extra money required to get the high-end turntable and the hard case, no matter how beautiful it might be. DJ Hero arrives on the PlayStation 3, the PS2, the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii.
