Rage, the upcoming post-apocalyptic first-person shooter from id Software and Bethesda can be completed in around 15 hours, at least according to its creative director, Tim Willits.

The developer of the game, id Software, has been pretty silent about the upcoming Rage, but, at least judging from its feature set, which promises that the game will blend role playing, first-person shooter and racing mechanics into a single experience, and the fact that it will use the company's brand new id Tech 5 engine, it's eagerly awaited by quite a lot of people.

Speaking with the US Official Xbox Magazine, via The Enquirer, Rage's Creative Director, Tim Willits, said that the campaign of the game can be completed in around 15 hours.

While that may sound a bit short or a bit too long, depending on what you compare the game to, the length can grow exponentially depending on how you choose to explore the open post-apocalyptic world of the game.

Factor in the fact that Rage will ship on two DVDs on the Xbox 360 and PC platforms, and you can clearly tell that id Software will throw in quite a lot of things in order to amaze players.

Now a lot is known about the new title coming from id and Bethesda, which assumed publishing duties after parent company ZeniMax acquired id Software and incorporated it into its growing stable of companies.

Rage will feature a post apocalyptic open world, in which the Earth is ravaged after an asteroid hits its surface, and will blend together first-person shooter mechanics with racing ones, as well as add in role-playing game elements like inventory or customization options.

Players will have to survive in the war torn world by shooting their enemies as well as race from settlement to settlement in order to find missions and complete quests.

Rage is set to appear for the PC, Mac, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 13, in North America, and September 16, in Europe.
