Alleged Tiger Woods mistress number 1, Rachel Uchitel, will be seen next on the fourth season of “Celebrity Rehab.” Though she was said to have agreed to do the reality show because of cocaine and prescription pill addiction, she has recently revealed she was actually addicted to love.

Uchitel and Dr. Drew were on The Today show to explain why she was on the fourth season of the reality show, while also rubbishing reports that she ever admitted to the much-mediated Tiger Woods affair.

As she puts it, she thought her substance abuse was the problem in itself but she later found out that she was actually using pills and even drugs to mask the bigger issue: her addiction to love.

At first, she says, she didn’t even believe such a thing existed, let alone that she had it. In time though, and with the help of Dr. Drew, she realized what her problem was and, of course, slowly started working on it.

“I am a completely different person now than I was before the show. You know, I thought addiction was having to do with something related to cocaine or meth or, you know, alcohol,” Uchitel says.

“And I had no idea that love addiction existed. I sort of brushed that off as something that didn’t – that I didn’t have or that didn’t exist at all, and I came to realize that it is a true condition that people have,” she adds.

She also explains how she eventually agreed to be on the show in the hope that other women watching her case and hearing of her problem will be motivated into seeking help themselves.

In this sense, Rachel Uchitel would serve as a role model of sorts.

“I think there’s so many women that feel misunderstood, that don’t understand the depression they’re suffering from and the fact that they get themselves into bad situations, bad relationships and then, you know, because they’re having such an issue with themselves and relationships, they turn to prescription pills,” she says.

“And I think it’s a very common thing and I really hope that people will identify with what I’ve been going through and help themselves,” Uchitel adds.
