Owners of a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet PC are certainly eagerly waiting for the day of February 21st to kick off, as this is the day when a new OS flavor might start to arrive on their devices.
Research In Motion has been long rumored to plan the release of a PlayBook 2.0 platform version, and the latest rumor converged towards a February 21st release.
For the time being, nothing has been officially confirmed on the release, but all might begin at around 5 A.M. EST, CrackBerry suggests.
The new OS release should deliver improvements that include stand-alone applications for e-mail, calendar, and memos, or the option to use a BlackBerry smartphone as a remote keyboard.
Additionally, there will be improved support for Android applications, which should broaden the available selection of software for PlayBook users. Update: The company has already started to push the OS out.
