The smartphone is expected to be launched very soon.

The Federal Communications Commission has approved the launch of the Quanta O2 Apollo in the United States, a smartphone that will offer its future users access to almost any type of connectivity man has ever invented. To understand what I want to tell by this, you should know that the only thing this device fails to provide is landline telephony, a thing that just wouldn't find its place in such a handset (this could have happened if the Apollo was supposed to stay in a charging dock 24/7 and just wonder around inside one's house :) ).

The handset runs a Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system that you will be able to admire in all its mobile beauty on a 2.7 inch TFT LCD touchscreen and you will also be able to take snapshots or make some self-portraits with the help of the 2 megapixel camera with CMOS sensor and dedicated camera access key.

Other features that one will find on the Apollo are the high quality stereo speakers, the side volume controls, a 5-way navigation pad, an FM radio, wireless Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS, Infrared, a miniUSB to be able to transfer files from and to your personal computer and, to complete the package, a miniSD memory expansion card slot will offer the user the extra storage space that everybody needs from time to time.

There is no info about the date when the Quanta O2 Apollo will hit the US stores or for what price one will be able to enjoy all the things this smartphone has to give, but we should be able to hear about it soon after the FCC nod.
