Action strategy fans are surely in for a treat, as Sierra Entertainment has revealed a pre-order bonus program for the upcoming PC title, World in Conflict, developed by Massive Entertainment. Beginning with June 22, gamers that pre-order World in Conflict from game stores will be getting so much bonus content that they'll forget about the game itself.

Pre-ordering your own copy of World in Conflict you'll be getting (among other stuff) a bonus DVD from The History Channel, access to a Beta event, bonus multiplayer maps, and special multiplayer account privileges. All this is available solely for gamers in the UK. The game itself will be available in September 2007.

World in Conflict is an action-strategy title set in an alternate world where the Cold War didn't end marking the next-generation of strategy games, pitting Cold War-era superpowers against one another with completely destructible 3D battlefields, razor sharp DX10 visuals, and a supposedly innovative gameplay mechanism, removing traditional resource-gathering and base-building in favor of non-stop combat, tactical decisions and an FPS-like addiction to intense action.

"World in Conflict marks a great step forward for the strategy genre, effectively blurring the lines between strategy, action and first-person-shooter," said Cindy Cook, chief marketing and strategy officer for Vivendi Games. "The pre-order campaign offers fans the exclusive chance to grab extra maps and materials that would make any game fan or cold war aficionado excited. With its exciting gameplay and amazing technology - if there's one strategy game to try this year, it's World in Conflict."

So, as I'm sure you want the full scoop on the World in Conflict UK pre-order bonus program, here's what you'll be getting, if you decide to acquire your own copy this way:

"Declassified: The Rise and Fall of The Wall" DVD by The History Channel: Learn about the brutal life and catastrophic death of the Berlin Wall, central symbol of the 20th century's longest and deadliest war. Features rare footage, insider reports, and exclusive interviews with major players, including Mikhail Gorbachev and George H.W. Bush. Access to World in Conflict's Beta Event: Guaranteed access to the upcoming beta event for World in Conflict scheduled for July 2007. Bonus Multiplayer Maps for the Beta Event and Demo: Exclusive multiplayer maps for play in the July beta event and the game's demo. These maps will only be available to those who pre-order the game. Exclusive Massgate Account Privileges: Exclusive access to Massgate, the powerful multiplayer software created by Massive Entertainment to provide online play for World in Conflict. By pre-ordering, players will be able to secure their online name before the game releases, ensuring their handles are their own when everyone else joins the fray.

Although the bonus pack is available solely for gamers in the UK, World in Conflict will be available worldwide this September, a title only for the privileged PC gamers. The game's official site will reveal more in terms of pre-ordering the game and getting everything listed above, so do visit it and keep in touch. Who knows, maybe the developer will throw in even more juicy stuff... or pull some out. Just teasing you!
