Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is one of the handset vendors which should bring to the market new Windows Phone devices as soon as Microsoft makes available the latest version of its mobile OS, namely Windows Phone Mango.

The handset vendor was long rumored to plan the release of new Windows Phone products, with names like Eternity and Omega making an appearance on the web in relation with the first Mango devices from the company.

No official confirmation on this has been made available until now, but a series of leaked details on what the HTC Omega might sport when made available for purchase already emerged.

Apparently, this would be a mid-level Windows Phone from the company, featuring a 3.8-inch SLCD touchscreen display capable of boasting an 800 x 480 pixels resolution, and a fast 1.5 GHz single-core Qualcomm processor, but with only 512 MB of RAM.

Even so, the HTC Omega is still shaping up as an appealing smartphone, with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back that would sport LED flash and auto focus, along with the ability to record 720p HD videos.

The specifications list of the upcoming device also includes 16 GB of internal memory, along with FM radio and a 3.5 mm headset jack.

Moreover, it should arrive on shelves with Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11n connectivity, as well as with quad-band GSM connectivity, dual-band 7.2 Mbps HSDPA (900, 2100) and 2 Mbps HSUPA.

Unfortunately, specific info on when the new device might arrive on the market has not been unveiled so far, though rumor has it that the first Mango phones could be released sometime in October.

Provided that it would be part of the first wave of Mango phones, the HTC Omega might be released at that time as well. Keep an eye on this space to learn additional details on the matter, as they become available.
