'... I forgot I was in a game and accidentally strangled her'

One of the most 'non-funny' jokes ever told has recently hit the Internet, saying that a young boy from Kansas, hardcore gamer and BioShock fan, going by the name of Sean Conner, has strangled his real "little sister" to death, because she bothered him while he was playing Take-Two's FPS. With all the hype out there regarding violent video games and people like Jack Thompson trying to pin them down at any cost, this is the only joke you could think of... (whoever the uninspired author is).

The news popped up on several websites on the Internet, claiming that Kansas news station (KCTV was the source) even quoted the supposed criminal, as follows: "I get really into my games and when Brit' came over to me to watch TV I forgot I was in a game and accidentally strangled her," Sean Conner told KCTV yesterday.

"When Brit' came over to me to watch TV..." Jeez! Does this strike anyone as the most ridiculously conceived poor excuse of a joke ever? Whoever wrote this is an idiot! This kind of prank would even annoy Jack Thompson, who, because of this piece of news, probably got his pulse rising to 300 bpms thinking "now they'll believe me!" but then saw the update on the bottom of the page saying it was only a hoax, leaving him weak and consumed by confusion and the refusal to admit it was all a bad joke. Not that Thompson wants people dead... Well, you know what I mean.

And this isn't even the main reason why this is a poor attempt to be funny. The real reason for this being one of the worst jokes ever told in relation to video games is that someone supposedly killed their SISTER in a gruesome manner. How is it even possible for some websites to report this without noticing that the words "accidentally" and "strangled" don't quite go with one another, not making any suggestions that it may very well be a false piece of news to begin with?

It exceeds my understanding as to why someone would even bother to come up with such a scenario, if they haven't thought it out well. Or who knows, maybe in their opinion the joke was thought out quite well, proving once more that the person behind it is indeed an idiotic piece of diarrhea. Care to express a few thoughts too? Write them down in the comments column below.
