Player X wants to publish the original Transformers mobile video content and has already made the first steps towards making this possible. The company has partnered with TV-Loonland and has purchased exclusive mobile video rights over this content.

Under the terms of the agreement, Player X will have rights to bring the newly digitised Transformers: The Movie together with the original animated series and the Japanese Transformers Takara series on mobile phones. It looks like most successful concepts now extend to handsets as part of their rapid evolution.

"We are always on the look-out to partner with big brands and Transformers' recent success underlines the strength of the brand. We're looking forward to bringing a new generation of Transformers fans to mobile", said Tony Pearce, Player X CEO. The amount of publicity that the movie has had lately makes this deal have chances of turning out to be quite profitable for both sides.

The latest Transformers movie is currently No 1 at the US Box Office and has already managed to raise USD 453 million in global sales. These figures are bound to increase even more in time, as the concept has not proved its best performances yet. Player X will have the chance of publishing a large number of video clips which they can later sell on a video-on-demand basis.

Player X sees the mobile phone as an environment with high potential for development. It has already made its first step towards making the best of this new possibility with the launch of two made-for-mobile channels. Zapper TV on Verizon Wireless's Vcast is the last one of them and has been launched to follow the success of the previous geekTV one.
