Studio X, the publishing branch of mobile media company Player X, has seized the exclusive mobile rights to console game phenomenon LEGO Batman. Under the terms of the exclusive deal with publisher TT Games, Studio X has three-year global rights to distribute the mobile game.

LEGO is one of the biggest game franchises ever. Co-releasing with the cross-platform LEGO Batman: The Videogame, which is published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the Mobile LEGO Batman Game is now available on mobile phones.

“We are delighted to be working with TT Games on one of the best-selling console games in the world. The LEGO brand has consistently delivered quality gameplay to a huge installed base of gamers and we are convinced we will replicate this success with the mobile game version,” said Tony Pearce, Player X CEO.

LEGO Batman: The Mobile Game is co-published by TT Games and Studio X, and developed by Cobra Mobile. Featuring context-sensitive one thumb controls, LEGO Batman: The Mobile Game lets you move around by swinging about the city and taking out enemies with the BATARANG, to getting up close and personal with them just like the caped crime-fighter himself.

There are three villain groups led by the Joker, the Penguin and the Riddler. Each leader has made plans to accomplish a personal goal. Each group is accompanied by hundreds of thugs and small timers that murder and steal under their orders. Each group member also has a specific set of goons that are tailored to their crimes. Players are invited to save GOTHAM from the super-criminals who are trying to take the city apart piece by piece.

The announcement follows the recent rebranding of Player X into two operating divisions, Player X Distribution and Studio X. The LEGO Batman deal follows Studio X’s recent acquisition of two PlayStation titles for mobile, the first time Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has allowed its console content to be licensed to a third party.
