The war between consoles has become an ever bitter fight, and the three large manufacturers, that is to say Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony, wage a fierce battle for every customer, trying to attract them with various highlights, promotions, or smaller price tags.

One of the most important features, in which Sony has been trying quite hard to gain the upper hand, is the online one. Although the Xbox 360, with its New Xbox Experience, is extremely popular, the Japanese company hopes to beat it with its PlayStation Home online system.

The new service, which has been launched at the beginning of December and is still in a beta stage, focuses on creating an online network where PlayStation 3 users can interact with other people.

Because the program is still in beta, some problems have appeared, but that hasn't stopped a lot of individuals from experiencing the service that Sony launched. This has been reflected in the big sales that the stores showcasing the Home service have attained recently. Now, as we reported some time ago, the Red Bull branded island will be soon launched, and will offer quite a lot of interesting experiences to the Home users.

It will be accessible from the World Map, and will consist of a stunning tropical island in which players can take part in different Red Bull air events, like the racing against other people through a course laid out around the isle. Today, it is only this race between planes that is going to be made available, as the PlayStation Home community manager has announced that other features for this island will be added in the following weeks.

Secondly, it seems that Home is to provide some endorsing, as the popular real world Ligne Roset and Diesel brands will now have their own stores in the Home Mall, where players can buy different pieces of apparel for their virtual use. Besides these aspects, the Killzone 2 costumes, which we gave information about earlier, will now make their appearance, along with two very special T-shirts that promote Capcom's latest CG movie, Resident Evil: Degeneration.

Considering this massive amount of content that is bound to go live this week, it seems that Home users will certainly have at their disposal quite a lot of activities in which they can take part. Hopefully, the whole service won't be plagued by any other bugs and everyone will be able to enjoy it properly.
