Thanksgiving will take place tomorrow and people in North America can hardly wait to celebrate one of their country's most important holidays. Turkeys are now becoming more and more scarce as families gather to honor this very special day.

Sony hasn't neglected this holiday and is really pulling out all the stops in order to make people more attracted to its PlayStation 3 consoles. As such, the company has just announced, through several posts on its blog, that it would launch a variety of goodies on the PlayStation Network, a day earlier than the usual Thursday update.

The first update will be a free turkey head for LittleBigPlanet's main characters, SackBoy and SackGirl. This quite unusual add-on will attract a part of LBP players, but will surely make a lot of people wonder whether such a thing was necessary. Players of the popular puzzle game will also get the chance to buy a special Chimera costume for their own SackBoy or SackGirl in order to make them resemble the monsters from the popular Resistance shooter series.

This new PSN update will bring a variety of other goodies, including the eagerly anticipated Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix game, which will bring the extremely popular fighting franchise in the realm of High Definition, with new and improved characters. This game will be available for 14.99 dollars, not a big sum, but it might make some of the fans think twice before paying for the title. For the fans who don't want to shop until Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, the PSN will feature a free demo for Electronic Arts' highly successful Dead Space horror survival shooter.

Last, but certainly not least, because it will be the first thing that will appear when you start up your PS3, is the fact that Sony has just launched the 2.53 version of the console's firmware. This new system software does bring quite a few feature to the PS3, the most important being the full screen support for Adobe Flash Player content.

All in all, these are very good pieces of news for PS3 users who wanted to spend some quality time with their consoles this Thanksgiving.
