Pirates Will Start Dueling on Your DS this Summer

- Battle Blackbeard, his allies and enemies in a game like no other

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

Pirates: Duels on the High Seas is a naval combat game that is going to be released by Oxygen this summer in June exclusively for the Nintendo DS handheld
consoles. The golden age of adventure on the High Seas will be rewritten and retold with a game that seems to look too good for a DS title. Even more interesting is the fact that a prequel, Pirates: The Key of Dreams, is already set to be released on WiiWare around the same time. Strange and interesting at the same time.

Your adventure as a pirate will begin with your search for The Seven Keys of The Seven Seas and, trust us, that in an era when Britannia ruled the waves and pirates terrorized the oceans, it will be quite a quest! Since the legend of Blackbeard's treasure and the Seven Keys is well known by everybody, it will be really hard for you to achieve your goal especially because, atop of all things, Blackbeard's curse for those that dare to pursue the keys exists and is ready to turn your nightmares into reality.

So, you'll have to steel yourself to face foes that no captain has ever seen before (and lived to tell the tales, at least), including the might of the Royal Navy, the legendary and deadly Kraken, a Witch Queen and Blackbeard himself. Just a little other version of what you already know from the Pirates of the Caribbean. In order to succeed, you'll have to collect weapons, recruit crewmen, amass great riches and journey through unchartered waters on your quest for the fabled Keys.

The game will bring us 70 unique levels (half of them single player missions and the rest multiplayer and skirmishes), a multiplayer mode for up to 4 players, seven real life locations (like The Bermuda Triangle, the China Sea and the Persian Gulf) as well as a lot of weapons to use against enemies and the possibility to rescue castaways in order to improve the performances of our ships. So get your Nintendo DS ready, schedule a seaside holiday in June and get ready to test Pirates: Duels on the High Seas.
