She was one of the favorites to win during the previous season of American Idol but she was eventually voted off, prompting talk of a fix on the show. Pia Toscano has recently reminded people why she was known as the girl with the biggest voice.

Present at the Columbus Day Parade in New York City the other day, the former AI alum performed, as she put it, “the song that started it all,” The Pretenders’ “I’ll Stand by You.”

Almost 35,000 people watched and cheered for her, which explains why she was a bit hyped before the show, tweeting, “New Yoooooork!!!!!! Columbus Day parade!!!!!”

She certainly didn’t disappoint, as the video above will confirm, even if this was not the first time she performed the song: she also covered it on the previous season of Dancing With the Stars.

Next up, Pia will perform live at the Annual Angels on the Bay Benefit Ball in Howard Beach, NY. In the meantime, check out her latest gig and, of course, enjoy.
