According to rumors that were spreading around the Internet a while ago, Palm was preparing a brand new smartphone for US wireless carrier Sprint, the 755p.

Last time anyone heard of the device there weren't a lot of details regarding either its specs, availability or looks. Now photos of the latest productivity tool have appeared here, and the device looks, well, just like what you would expect from one of Palm's products.

Just as the 'p' in its name suggest, the Treo 755p is a Garnet-OS based device, rather than running Windows Mobile like some of its brothers.

It's equipped with the must-have QWERTY keyboard for faster, more convenient message and document composing, sports Ev-Do and a 1.3 megapixel camera. Reportedly, the device is slimmer, lighter and quite easy to hold. Other details remain unknown. The Treo 755p will most likely be an upgrade to the Treo 700p that Spring is currently offering and it will bring the same functionality the business users it targets are accustomed to.

Frankly, it's just another Treo handset without an antenna, but Palm OS users will surely be glad to see this one in stores. There is no information on when the Palm Treo 755p will start shipping to Sprint stores, or the price tag it will come with. Some rumors pointed out that a possible release date might be the 14th of March and even though this wasn't confirmed, photos of the handset in the wild mean that it won't be long until its manufacturer will make an official announcement.
