The new IQ250 digital back will be announced this Friday

Phase One is a Danish company known for its high-end digital photography equipment as well as for its Capture One image editing software.

According to PhotoRumors, Phase One is about to announce a new digital back as part of the company's IQ2 series. The new IQ250 comes with a 50MP CMOS sensor capable of delivering up to 15 stops of dynamic range and improved ISO sensitivity of up to ISO6,400. The new digital back will also be capable of shooting up to 2 frames per second in burst shooting mode.

The same source states that Phase One will actually present a working camera and the official announcement will be made on Friday, January 24.

Yesterday, another high-end camera manufacturer, Hasselblad, announced the world's first medium format digital camera featuring a 50MP CMOS sensor that comes with higher ISO sensitivity, faster capture rate, longer shutter speed capability, and other great features.
