If you're into horror games and especially if you loved Penumbra: Black Plague, you will be really excited to find out that the release date of the expansion is now set: the 27th of August 2008. Named Penumbra: Requiem, has been developed by Frictional Games and it will be available exclusively via digital download on website GamersGate.

In the bizarre, horror world of Penumbra: Requiem, you will experience another psychological thrill on a level you haven't heard of in Penumbra: Black Plague. This time, it will be even harder to tell what is real and what is not and the developers promise that you shouldn't always trust your senses if you want to survive. Pretty cool, right?

"After the launch of Penumbra: Black Plague we realized that we still had some unfinished ideas for features and story line that we wanted to implement. An expansion like this will be the perfect end to a series that has given both us and the players so much", said Jens Nilsson, Co-founder of Frictional Games.

The Requiem expansion promises to tie up loose ends from the previous installment, even though it will bring us various creatures from the hero's past. Also, long lost friends will return to help us but, as I've said before, it would be best if we didn't always trust them.

Penumbra: Black Plague brought a creepy and dark psychological horror experience to our computers. The game followed the adventures of Philip as he went in search of his dead father. It was not an easy quest, though: enemies were surrounding him and terror lurking in the shadows - but Philip had to collect clues and solve puzzles in order to proceed and achieve his goal. Only one person was able to help him: yourself. And now you have to take the little fellow by the hand, again and guide him through a new adventure.
