As promised, Ricoh showcased the upcoming Pentax 645D 2014 medium format system camera at the CP+ Camera and Photo Imaging Show in Yokohama, Japan.

As reported by Japanese website DCwatch, Mr. Tanaka Nozomi revealed in a special seminar at CP+ 2014 a few of the possible specs for the upcoming Pentax 645D 2014 medium format camera.

Until now, it's known that the new Pentax medium format model will pack the same 50MP CMOS image sensor made by Sony and used in the recently announced Phase One IQ250 and Hasselblad H5D-50c cameras.

According to Mr. Tanaka, the new Pentax model will come with a SAFOX XI AF module, insane ISO 102,400 or ISO 204,800 sensitivity (for medium format cameras), and high shutter speed that can capture up to 3 frames per second in burst shooting mode.

Moreover, the Pentax 645D 2014 will support Live View and USB 3.0 for tethered shooting, and will have a shutter life of up to 100,000 shots. The camera will be priced around ¥1,000,000 / $10,000 / €7,000 and will be available starting mid-April.
