Patriot Memory, a global provider of memory modules and flash memory solutions, has recently announced two new 4GB DDR2 memory kits designed for computer enthusiasts. After introducing its latest DDR3 memory modules for high-end desktop systems, the company has decided to extend its Viper series of products, with the introduction of two new 4GB memory kits based on current DDR2 technology.

As you might have expected, the new memory modules have been designed as the optimum solution for today's high-end desktop computer systems which use the DDR2 memory standard. Both kits are part of the company's Viper series, which means that they feature an integrated heat dissipating solution, ready to provide the best memory performance.

The new memory kits have been set to work at 1000MHz with 5-5-5-12 latencies and 900MHz with 4-5-4-12 timings, thus enabling some impressive performance rates for mainstream and high-end desktop computer systems.

“4GB DDR2 PC2-7200 and PC2-8000 Viper Series memory kits are a valuable addition to Patriot's product line for consumers,” says Technical Director for Patriot Memory Les Henry. “These large capacity, affordable kits, allow consumers to easily upgrade and experience the full potential of their systems.” Henry adds.

Both memory kits have been designed with integrated aluminum copper heatspreaders, in black and green colors, for the Extreme Performance PC2-8000 and Extreme Performance PC2-7200, respectively. The cooling solution will enable the memory modules to be overclocked, thus raising the performance bar for your high-end gaming rig.

The company has not released any details yet regarding the price tag that will be attached to the modules, but users will be able to purchase them soon, from various Patriot sales representatives.

Despite the introduction of the new DDR3 memory standard, DDR2-enabled desktop systems are still at the top of most users' preferences, given their lower price tag as compared with that of DDR3 solutions.
