Today, Pantech Wireless, Inc., and wireless carrier AT&T officially announced the introduction of a new messaging device on the US market, namely the Pantech Pursuit. This is the first handset from the company to sport a touchscreen display and a sliding QWERTY keyboard, and should expand AT&T’s line of Quick Messaging Phones (QMP) with two color flavors, namely lime and blue.

The new Pantech Pursuit comes to shelves with a nice range of original applications, including Drawing Commander, Face Tag and Graffiti, its maker revealed. The handset is set to offer users the possibility to easily navigate the Internet, watch videos, listen to music and more, all possible without sliding the device open. However, when messaging features are required, the QWERTY keyboard is there to help.

According to the mobile phone maker, the Pursuit come with: - Cool Device Colors – Stand out from the crowd and make a statement in lime or blue. - Unique, Fun Features – Drawing Commander dials contacts and activates apps with the trace of a finger on the touch screen; Graffiti allows drawing on images by simply touching the screen; Face Tag adds contacts directly from camera phone pictures. - Staying Connected @ 3G Speed – Stay on top of your world with AT&T Social Net. Zip around the Web, peek at friends’ newsfeeds, or catch up on favorite blogs, all at the speed of 3G.

Among the main features of the new mobile phone, we can count a 2.8-inch touchscreen display that offers fast access to a series of apps like camera, social media accounts, music and video library and more, multitasking capabilities that enable users surf the web and launch another feature, or receive messages while taking a call.

“Pursuit combines the best of both worlds,” Dave Ronis, CMO of Pantech Wireless, commented on the launch. “AT&T’s quick messaging customers can now have all of the fun that comes with a touch screen and also the ease of a full keyboard. Moving into the summer months, Pursuit is the perfect phone for the perfect season.”

Those interested in purchasing the new Pantech Pursuit will find it available at AT&T retail stores nationwide, as well as on the company's website. The price tag for the device has been set at $49.99 upon the signing of a contract agreement with the carrier and after a $50 mail-in rebate. A minimum $20 per month messaging plan is required.
