After FFC approval, Pantech is prepared to launch the much awaited PN820 with cellular provider Verizon somewhere around next month.

Pantech PN820 is a Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 powered smartphone, equipped with a QVGA 240 x 320 pixel, 65k color TFT display, a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and WiFi for connectivity and a MiniSD card slot for those who need more space for their stuff, disguised as a very elegant, smooth looking clamshell phone. This is Pantech's first high-end model for Verizon. Until now, the carrier has only sold low-end Pantech phones. With the features and applications installed, such as mobile editions of Microsoft Office and Windows Media Player, PN820 will easily cope with many different types of files. Some might find it inconvenient that the numeric pad was not replaced with a keyboard, especially because the handheld runs on Windows Mobile 5.

Rumor has it that the launch date is the 29th of December, but it was not announced officially. The price is not known so far.
