Palm announced that it will be demonstrating mobile solutions to over 24,000 healthcare technology makers at the Helthcare Information and Management Systems Society conference, throughout the February 25- March 1 period.

The company is going to showcase its Windows Mobile and Palm OS powered Treo 700 series and the Palm OS based 680 smartphones with pre-loaded healthcare applications developed by Palm's third-party network.

Palm seems to be taking the lead when it comes to helping healthcare providers make use of the mobile technology to improve productivity and efficiency, reduce costs and improve the quality of the services they provide.

The healthcare solutions on Treo smartphones will include UpToDate for mobile access to current information within medical specialties on a wide variety of disorders, options for diagnosis, management, therapy or dosage, McKesson's Horizon Mobile Care Rounding solution for clinical reference systems, providing educational materials addressing a wide range of medical conditions, procedures and treatments, IQMax for mobile dictation, access to clinical results, and others.

Palm will officially present the 'Designed for Palm Products' program at HIMSS and will be accepting membership applications. The company's healthcare solutions extend beyond HIMSS to a number of decision makers at leading healthcare provider institutions across the states.

Moreover, Palm will also give developers the opportunity to be awarded the 'Designed for Palm Products' logo which will enable them to extend brand value through the Palm brand and also give more confidence to the consumers, which will know that the developers' solutions deliver Palm's high standard of excellence. Palm's primary aim is to put Treo smartphones directly in the hands of healthcare providers, which can actually try out the solutions before purchasing.
