Sunnyvale-based mobile phone maker Palm will soon have its Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus available for purchase to a wider range of users, and both devices are bound to arrive on the airwaves of O2 and Vodafone in Germany. According to a recent announcement from the company, the two service providers should bring the Plus versions of its webOS-based handsets to the country in the near future.

It's a common fact that Telefónica, O2 and Palm have signed a long-term partnership deal, the result of which is the release of Pre Plus and Pixi Plus on O2's airwaves, following the previous launch of Pre with the carrier. Moreover, there are great chances that the two devices will also land in Spain, Ireland and the UK, yet no info on the matter emerged at the moment.

The European versions of Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus will arrive with support for GSM/UMTS bands, and they should include about the same specs as the models that will arrive at AT&T in the US. Both of them received approval from the Global Certification Forum a while ago, and were announced to hit O2 Germany come April 28. However, O2 does not intend to discontinue the older Palm Pre when the Plus model lands, the carrier states.

As stated above, Vodafone Germany will carry the two webOS-based mobile phones too, which suggests that O2's exclusivity on Palm's devices might have come to an end. Unfortunately, there are no details available on when the handsets arrive at this carrier, nor on the price tag they will sport. We should mention that O2 hasn't unveiled info on the pricing of the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus either.

The availability of these devices in more markets might help Palm increase sales, though there are little chances the company will manage to regain its foothold, as the latest reports suggested. While no announcement regarding the release of Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus on other European markets was made, it shouldn't be long before Palm decides to share such details, so stay tuned for more on the matter.
