PlayStation 2 owners that love playing quality historical simulation games have all the reasons to be happy right now: Kou Shibusawa's Nobunaga's Ambition: Rise to Power is available for purchase from North American retailers, as well as different online game shops. The game has already been released in Japan under the name of Nobunaga's Ambition: Tenkasousei and it was really appreciated by the historical simulation fans.

Nobunaga's Ambition is set during the 16th century during the Sengoku (the Warring States), when Nobunaga Oda assembled the most advanced military force in Japan, and instituted new policies that stimulated the growth of the nation's economy. You can take the role of the good guy himself, or one of the rival warlords, and fight to unite Japan under one rule throughout 7 scenarios that have over 300 possible starting points.

For the first time in the series, you will get the chance to enjoy a full 3D real time battle system and, if you are a person that is not afraid to risk everything, you can go "all in" and risk your entire empire in a battle. But, in that case, you should really know what you are doing, since a sudden "game over" wouldn't be exactly what you would like to see.

Nobunaga's Ambition: Rise to Power tries to be more than just your regular military domination game. It actually tries to "bring back to life" the Feudal Japan and comes packed with different character edit functions and options. Also, the micro-management part will allow you to take care of the government affairs and build ninja camps, blacksmiths and markets, everything with only one goal: go to war, win and unite Japan. If you think you are up for the challenge Koei has just launched, head to the nearest game shop and get ready to spend some quality hours with this new title.
