We live in some very troubled financial times, when a lot of gaming budget has been seriously cut due to other expenses. That is why a lot of companies have resorted to major promotions and price cuts in order to attract people into buying new things.

Valve's Steam and Microsoft's Xbox Live services have already begun to employ major promotions, price cuts and other types of marketing stunts to make people spend as they once did on games, add-ons or other DLC offerings.

Yesterday, we saw Xbox Live Gold subscribers receive the discount schedule for the month of April, which was started with a 50% cut of the price of Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One. Now, courtesy of Hothead Games, the developer and publisher of the episodic series, it seems that PC users will also get a chance at buying the first episode at a lower price.

That's right, those who own Windows, Linux or even Mac, will be able to purchase the first episode for just 9.95 dollars at the independent digital distribution service Greenhouse. The promotion only lasts until April 12, so you might want to hurry if you missed your chance at buying the first episode of Gabe and Tycho's adventures when it first appeared.

Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness is an adventure RPG title that showcases the adventures of the two main characters from the popular Penny Arcade online comic series. Gabe and Tycho are in a parallel 1920 America, named New Arcadia, and part of the Startling Developments Detective Agency. Through their adventures, they uncover new mysteries and are challenged with different types of enemies.

All in all, this is certainly great news for those who have been putting off buying this game for quite some time. Let's just hope that more and more cuts will arrive for other titles.
