OtterBox's come up with plenty of cool and interesting protection solutions for various Apple devices over time, and now, the company's back with some very interesting offerings for iPad owners, in the shape of multiple new color options for the Defender series of OtterBox iPad protective cases. Adding to the classic option of black silicone on black polycarbonate, the Defender Series for iPad is now available in combinations of white silicone on pink, black-on-white, black-on-pink and blue-on-white.

Despite the different looks, the case still offers the same high level of protection against drops, bumps and shocks in several layers.

Two pieces of polycarbonate slide and lock together to securely encase the iPad, a silicone outer skin wraps around and shields side buttons and ports and a self-adhering screen protector applies to the Multi-Touch screen.

An additional polycarbonate cover attaches to the front of the device while not in use or snaps to the back during interaction, this piece also functioning as a stand for convenient displaying.

The case measures 9.99” (253.75 mm) X 7.89” (200.53 mm) X 0.94” (23.98 mm) and weighs around 12 oz (340.19 g), which means that it will add only a moderate amount of weight to the iPad.

“These devices are used in every kind of environment – corporate, education, military, medical, and others,” OtterBox Founder and CEO Curt Richardson said.

“Defender Series color combinations diversify OtterBox case users and give them the advantage of personalization and protection,” the company's CEO concluded.

OtterBox has not provided any info on the pricing of these different color variants of the Defender series, but it's quite likely that it won't differ too much from those of the originals, which were pretty decently priced, following the same trend as some of the other products of this type available on the market.
