Chinese mobile phone maker Oppo is gearing up for the launch of its Oppo N1 smartphone on the market in India, only a few months after it was made official.

The 5.9-inch handset has already arrived on shelves in China, and it should hit other markets around the world starting with December, yet no specific info on when it will land in India has been provided as of now.

One thing that is certain, however, is the fact that it will be available in this country, where Oppo will also set up its own local branch, as fonearena notes.

“We’re in the process of setting up a local branch in India to provide our Ofans with support in OPPO stores and make their brand experience even better. Stay tuned for an official announcement coming soon,” a company’s rep said in a recent forum post.

Oppo’s high-end N1 smartphone was launched with a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor hidden beneath the aforementioned full HD touchscreen, as well as with 2GB of RAM to ensure increased performance capabilities.

Furthermore, the new mobile phone sports 16GB / 32GB internal memory options, though there’s no microSD memory card slot included to allow for additional storage space to be added to it.

The main selling point of this device, however, is its 13-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and full HD video recording capabilities. The sensor has been installed on a hinge that allows users to rotate it over 200 degrees and use it both as a rear and front camera.

The specifications list of Oppo N1 also includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS receiver, a Li-Ion 3610 mAh battery, and accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass sensors.

The smartphone is running under Oppo’s Color OS, which is based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, but also offers official support for CyanogenMod ROMs. In fact, a special CM version of the device was also announced, running exclusively under the custom software.
