Norwegian software solutions company Opera Software announced today that Huawei, the China-based leading global telecommunications solutions provider, had selected its Opera Mobile 10 browser to be pre-loaded on the mobile phones that it would launch on the market in the country. According to the handset vendor, it has always aimed at offering the best value to its users, and the inclusion of Opera Mobile 10 in its devices will enable it to provide them with a fast and feature-complete Web experience on various mobile operating systems.

Opera Software also noted that its Opera Mobile 10 browser had been released to operators and OEMs on December 10 last year, and that the direct-to-distributor version of its solution comes to the market with the new cross-platform UI framework from the company. At the same time, Opera also mentions that Huawei is now able to deliver the same user experience to its users regardless the operating system they choose, so that they all enjoy high quality Web surfing on their mobile phones.

“Customer expectations for mobile-phone capabilities are constantly growing. We needed a browser that's always ahead of those expectations, anticipating our customers' mobile Web needs and making it a reality. Opera is that browser,” said Jiang Huabing, head of Huawei handset R&D department, Huawei. “China represents unique growth opportunities in the mobile market, and we hope that with the addition of Opera Mobile to our handsets, more of China will soon be online.”

The China-based telecommunications solutions provider stated that it had managed to ship a number of around 30 million mobile phones during the last year alone. As many of you might already know, China is slowly moving towards the 3G era in telecoms, and the handset vendor expects for its shipments to grow stronger during the ongoing year.

“By working with a market leader such as Huawei, we are able to develop more deeply into the Chinese market and bring the Web to more people,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. “Opera Mobile 10 is a significant achievement for Opera, as it takes mobile browsing to the next level. Huawei has recognized the value Opera adds for its customers, and, with our help they will continue to exceed expectations.”
