The third film in the “Twilight” series, “Eclipse,” is currently shooting in Vancouver, as producers and movie bosses are doing their best to up security and prevent leaks to the media. So far, their methods seemed to have worked, but, either due to a fluke or simply bad chance, what is believed to be the opening scene for “Eclipse” has just leaked online, Lainey Gossip says.

The video is clearly shot on a movie set – that much is beyond any doubt. In it, fans can admittedly see actor Samuel Xavier, who plays Riley, strolling in the rain. At one point, he begins to struggle, in what is believed to be the scene of his transformation and he’s attacked by vampire Victoria, who will probably be added in post-production. The seven-minute clip sees Xavier doing the scene more than once, while also receiving instructions from someone on the production staff.

“This is Xavier Samuel on Wednesday night shooting ‘Twilight Eclipse’ soaking wet, filming in the fake rain over and over again. My source tells me he’s wearing a wetsuit under those clothes to stay dry/warm(er). This is why he appears to be a little more robust. As you’ve seen from his candids, Samuel is rather slight. I’m told exclusively that Xavier is working on what’s currently intended (at press time) to be the OPENING SCENE in Eclipse. ‘Riley’ in human form is being terrorized down an alley in Seattle pursued by a sinister shadow which turns out to be Victoria.; He cannot outrun her, she attacks him, and as you can see from the exclusive video below (from PUNKD Images) he writhes in pain from being bitten.” Lainey Gossip writes.

Of course, if that be the case, whoever shot the video and then made it available online should expect some sort of repercussion from Summit Entertainment, the movie studio behind the franchise that is already having enough problems as it is with keeping production details under wraps. As several commenters to the video post on YouTube also point out, Summit stands to lose too much money if the video is the real deal not to make a move for it. Then again, the studio could also opt for another opening scene and avoid all the brouhaha.

At this point in time, Summit has made no comment regarding the poor-quality video making the rounds online and claiming to be the opening scene for next year’s blockbuster. Fans, on the other hand, incline to believe the clip is legit – and are consequently patiently waiting for a response from the movie studio. You can see the entire video here.
