I-play, the mobile entertainment company, revealed the results of a recently conducted survey which shows that 38% of casual online games customers also play games on their mobile phones and 45% of them would play their preferred online games on mobiles, if they were available.

22% of the respondents said "yes" and 16% said "sometimes", when asked if they play games on mobile phones. This means a 38 percent, which is almost twice more than the industry average of 20.5% of customers from North America who play mobile games at least once a month, according to M:Metrics.

The survey also shows that 66% of the online casual games fans play games everyday and 22% play at least three times a week. DFC Intelligence, a leading research firm, estimates that by 2011 subscription revenue from online casual games will reach $6.8 billion, from $2 billion in 2005, while Informa Telecoms & Media predicts the global revenues from mobile games will grow up to $11 billion by 2011, from the today $3.4 billion.

"The frequency with which online casual gamers play is noteworthy and the fact that this group have twice the propensity to play mobile games as the average mobile user is hugely exciting and positive for the mobile games industry," said David Gosen, President, I-play. "Further potential is shown by the fact that nearly half of people surveyed would want to play their favorite online game on mobile, providing another positive indication of the cross-pollination opportunities between the two gaming communities. This reinforces our position as the first company to deliver global, integrated casual-games solutions across the 'three screens' of PC, mobile and iTV."

1,000 online casual games players responded to the survey, out of which 19% are between 18 and 24 year olds, 20% between 25 and 34 years old, 17% between 35 and 44 years olds, 21% are 44 - 54 years old and 25% are gamers over 55 years olds.
