The latest update to the iOS flavor of OneNote has been made available for download three months after the previous refresh, version 1.1, went live. New features and functionality aside, OneNote Mobile 1.2 for iPhone is now being offered to customers in more markets than ever before.

According to Michael C. Oldenburg, a Technical Writer in the Office division at Microsoft, iPhone users in Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand also received access to OneNote Mobile for iPhone as of version 1.2.

Previously, only customers using iPhone in the United States were able to download OneNote for their devices.

But at the same time, the expansion of localization options is only an aspect of the evolution to version 1.2.

A few other improvements, namely new search, sharing, and customization capabilities have been introduced with OneNote Mobile 1.2 for iPhone in response to customer feedback.

Oldenburg enumerated some of the enhancements specific to OneNote Mobile 1.2 for iPhone, including:

“• Search — retrieve important information quickly within text in your notebooks, sections, and pages.

• Pin recent notes — keep your favorite notes at the top of the Recently Viewed list.

• Sync shared notebooks — sync notebooks that others have shared with you on Windows Live SkyDrive.

• Choose which notebooks sync to your phone — save bandwidth by excluding less important notebooks.

• Set the image size for photos — choose between faster syncing or higher quality images.”

In addition to the new functionality, OneNote Mobile 1.2 for iPhone also comes with a redesigned graphical user interface. Microsoft has opted to use a lighter color scheme designed to improve user experience.

At the same time, the software giant added new help content set up to simplify usage of OneNote Mobile 1.2 for iPhone, by providing users with information on how to make the best put of the application.
