Onda Communication SpA has unveiled their newest 3G cellphone at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, called the N7100. The mobile phone was a result of the collaboration between Onda and ZTE, and the first phone from Onda's BRIONVEGA line.

It comes with a complete set of advanced features including a 262k color screen with a 320 x 240 pixel resolution, rotating 2 megapixel
camera with flash and 3.6Mbps HSDPA modem.

The phone also has support for DVB-H, DVB-T, DAB, DAT-IP and T-DMB mobile digital standards. The built-in media player supports MP3, AAC and AAC+ file types and the files can be stored on the 128MB internal memory or on a memory card for the MicroSD card slot for expansion that the phone also includes.

Onda Communication’s CEO, Michelangelo Agrustri, commented, “Our BRIONVEGA (N7100) mobile TV phone, co-developed and manufactured by ZTE and based on Siano’s ground breaking low cost, low power multi-standard chip, marks our first mobile TV product for our main customer Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM). We are proud to formally launch the BRIONVEGA (N7100) during this week’s 3GSM conference in Barcelona-Spain, with the first volume deliveries into TIM’s Italy retail distribution channels scheduled within the next few weeks.”

The tri-band mobile phone measures 99mm x 53mm x 19mm and weighs 110 grams. For the time being, the price of the Onda N7100 is yet unknown, but the phone will be available in Italy on Telecom Italia Mobile in a couple of weeks.

Italy is the first European country to commercially deploy DVB-H, the network providing coverage in over 2500 towns and reaching approximately 75 percent of the population.
