Available starting with mid-June

Wireless carrier Telefonica O2 Germany announced on Thursday that it would launch two new mobile phones as soon as mid-June, namely the Samsung Galaxy and the Toshiba TG01. Both handsets are meant to offer mobile phone users a leveraged experience, due to the wide range of functionalities that they include.

The Samsung Galaxy is the first Android-powered device the South Korean mobile phone maker has brought to the market, and sports a wide range of mobile Internet features so as to offer an enhanced browsing experience to all users. The functionality of the device is leveraged via the support for a wide range of Google services it comes with, as well as due to the fact that is can be easily personalized to adapt to users' needs.

In addition, it offers access to the Android Market, where a variety of applications can offer even more customization options, including Web 2.0 applications such as Facebook or Flickr, not to mention its instant messaging possibilities. Moreover, the phone also comes with GPS capabilities, as well as with support for Google Maps.

The Toshiba TG01, as many of you might already know, comes with the Snapdragon platform and boasts a 1GHz processor, with a large 4.1-inch display that can deliver an 800 x 480 pixel resolution and razor-sharp images in brilliant colors. The smartphone comes with the Windows Mobile operating system, and users will be able to control it using gestures, such as shakes to accept an incoming call. The handset also includes Integrated GPS and A-GPS, the Toshiba Touch UI, Microsoft Internet Explorer Mobile 6, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, 512 MB ROM and 256MB RAM, a microSDHC memory card slot for additional storage space, Bluetooth v2.0, USB v2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g connectivity, as well as HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS, GSM, and a 1000 mAh battery that can deliver up to 275 minutes of talk time and up to 225 hours of standby time.
