After many a rumor that the Adam tablet from Notion Ink had been delayed, and after so-called complaints

about a lack of a demo of the device, the company has now provided a video in which it demos the Eden UI.

The Eden UI is a special user interface that Notion Ink developed for its media tablet known as Adam, the same Adam whose delivery was delayed not long ago.

Essentially, Eden is a system composed of side-swiped panels (which can be re-ordered by dragging them via touch) and a red cross-bar launcher.

Each panel is filled with a single app, whereas the cross-bar allows one to easily switch between multiple tasks.

One of the more interesting parts about the UI is that opened applications do not use up system resources if they are not actively being used.

This includes not only minimized applications, but even panels that are currently on-screen. This essentially makes multitasking easier and smoother than it would otherwise be.

Of course, it should be noted that the hardware of the Adam itself will allow quite a bit of work to be done simultaneously.

The product is based on NVIDIA's Tegra 2 system-on-chip (SoC) and has 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of flash storage and support for a microSD card.

Additionally, there is a 10.1-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) (or a Pixel Qi screen), plus stereo speakers, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, USB 2.0 and an HDMI output.

All in all, the tablet has more than a few resources at its disposal, resources that the custom-made Eden UI will be more than eager to efficiently exploit.

Now all that is left is for Notion Ink to actually start shipping the product to those that set pre-orders, something that will only happen around Janaury 15-22, or so have said previous reveleations.
