Notion Ink have announced that their Adam tablet PC has finally received the necessary FCC approvals, and that it should start shipping as soon as next week.

According to a recent post on their website, FCC should update their website today or on Monday, and the Notion Ink Adam tablet is expected to start shipping on Wednesday.

“Those curious ones can look out for NI3421A01 as the Product Code, Guarantee Code: Y2G and 0020356499 as FNR to search the product (you will get results only when FCC updates on their websites),” Rohan Shravan notes on Notion Ink's website.

“I have the CE details, but I think there is a regulation that details can only be made public by them,” he continues.

Previously, the company was expected to have the Adam tablet PC shipping in early January, but the fact that the device did not receive the necessary FCC and EC approvals in due time determined them to push the shipping date back a little.

In addition to informing users on the fact that Adam will start shipping as soon as next week, Notion Ink's Rohan Shravan also offered some details on the product code that Adam would sport.

“There is a small story behind the product code (assigned by Notion Ink). It reads NI3421A01. NI stands for Notion Ink and A01 is Adam 1 series. 3421 are consecutive numbers in the Fibonacci series,” he states.

“We can trace the number down to NI0000A01 (later ones being 0100, 0102, 0302, 0503, 0805, 1308, 2113 and 3421). This would mean that the final Adam you will receive is the 9th iteration!”

He continues saying that Adam should arrive on shelves with a lot of content pre-loaded on it, and that the company is focused on offering even more content to its customers.

As soon as the Android-based tablet PC would start shipping in the US and in European countries, only a few days from now, the company plans on kicking off new pre-orders for the tablet PC.
