Combining mobile phones with music has proved to be an excellent concept that has brought great success to handset producers. Camera music rendering possibilities have turned into basic features which are supposed to be included by default in more evolved cellulars.

Nokia looks to exploit the mobile music market too, by choosing to provide this kind of services from now on to its users. An official announcement is still expected from the Finnish company as to remove any matter of a doubt from this information.

Nokia has recently purchased Twango, a media-sharing website, revealing their interest in the entertainment possibilities that mobile phones have. Moreover, such a music website carrying the Finnish company's brand is an idea which was analyzed before by the company.

Nokia is currently the world leading mobile phone producer, which gives it a head start with the fans of this brand. Launching a music service could mean considerably great competition for other companies that already take up a large part of the market for this service. Apple could find serious competition in Nokia, just as the iPhone has many times been compared with the N95 handset.

A similar strategy is expected to come from handset producer competitor, Sony Ericsson. This company has already made a strong push on the music phone market, with its Walkman line of devices. Nokia's service is expected to allow transfer of DRM-protected songs to handsets coming from other producers. Details on label partners and other content agreements have not been revealed yet, although the service should come with about one million songs already available for download.

People expect an official announcement of the new service on the 29th of August, during a London event at the Ministry of Sound nightclub. Nokia is also expected to release new music phones to follow the line of the services that it will provide after the announcing.
