Soon, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia should make its first Windows 8-based tablet PC official, and some more info on the hardware specifications that it might hit shelves with has emerged.

The device appears confirmed to arrive on the market with the 8.1 flavor of Windows RT, and is said to feature a large 10.1-touchscreen display.

Furthermore, a recent article on microsoft-news.com claims that Nokia will pack the upcoming device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked in at 2.15 GHz, as well as with 32GB of internal memory.

The specs list of the device would also include a 1080p resolution for the screen, which also supports 5 point multi-touch with wide viewing angles.

Nokia is also expected to design the device with a detachable keyboard / stand, one that should prove easy to connect to the tablet, similar to the Touch / Type covers that Microsoft launched for its Surface.

The keyboard would also include a battery, which should provide it with some extra juice, rumor has it.

Additionally, Nokia is said to pack the slate with wireless N Cell compatibility, as well as with USB ports on the back, and with Micro HDMI and USB 3.0 support.

The same as Nokia’s Windows Phone-based Lumia devices, the tablet PC might arrive on shelves in a Cyan matte color. It is said to be manufactured by Compal.

Rumor has it that Nokia is set to make the new tablet PC official in September, and that it will launch it in the United States on the network of wireless carrier AT&T.

For the time being, however, no official confirmation on any of the above has emerged, so we’ll take all this with a grain of salt. However, given that Nokia has already said that it is interested in the tablet market, the new rumor could pan out, so stay tuned.
