Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has just started to deliver a new batch of software updates for some of the popular smartphones it brought to the market during the past years, including the E52, E66 and E72, among others.

Since they are much alike, the Nokia E52 and the E72 both tasted software version 053.001, which brings forth some minor changes, it seems, up from the previously released 051.018 and 052.005 firmwares, respectively.

Unfortunately, specific info on what the software update brings forth lacks at the moment. However, it appears that the new firmware should be available for most users out there.

Both the Nokia E52 and the E72 sport UDP (User Data Preservation), which means that user's files should remain untouched during the update process, though it would be a great idea to back up all data on the device before proceeding with the installation.

The software update should be available as an OTA (Over-The-Air) firmware, though users should also be able to update their devices through a Windows PC, using Nokia Ovi Suite or the Nokia Software Updater application.

As for Nokia E66, it just got updated to firmware v501.21.001, up from the previously available software 500.21.009, a recent article on A2Phone reads.

The new software update might not be available for all users out there right now, though Nokia would certainly push it out in more regions in the near future.

Unlike the other two devices, the Nokia E66 does not come with UDP (User Data Preservation), which means that those interested in updating it should back up all data on the handset before launching the process.

The update can be performed either over the air or via the available desktop PC software.

Unfortunately, specific info on what exactly was changed with these new firmware versions is not available for the time being, though more might be unveiled in the near future.
