Nokia is selling its Lumia series smartphones in India for quite some time. However, it appears that the Windows Phone devices are not that popular, which is why Nokia decided to cut prices on some of these phones.

After discounting the already cheap Lumia 710, Nokia has recently slashed 20% off Lumia 800 price to make it more appealing to customers.

The folks at IBNLive have just been tipped on this price cut, so customers can now grab a cheaper Nokia Lumia 800 via major retailer Flipkart.

The smartphone is available in three colors, Black, Cyan and Magenta, and can be purchased for only Rs 23,590 (475 USD or 360 EUR) outright. It is worth mentioning Nokia Lumia 800 was initially priced at Rs 29,900 (600 USD or 455 EUR).

Nokia Lumia 800 is among the first Windows Phone devices launched by the Finnish company on the market. The result of the collaboration between Nokia and Microsoft, Lumia 800 is powered by Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system.

Its unibody design and minimalist layout strongly resembles the MeeGo-based N9 smartphone. The phone packs a 1.4 GHz single core Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor, an Adreno 205 GPU, 16GB of internal memory, as well as 512MB of RAM.

Just like most Windows Phone devices, Lumia 800 lacks a microSD card slot for memory expansion, but offers users free cloud storage space via SkyDrive service.

Among the highlights of the smartphone, one can also notice the impressive 8-megapixel rear photo snapper, which features Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, dual-LED flash and HD (720p) video recording.

The phone's 3.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display is based on Nokia ClearBlack technology and features 480 x 800 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Nokia Lumia 800's 1450 mAh battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 265 hours of standby time (335 hours in 3G mode) or up to 13 hours of talk time (9 hours in 3G mode).
