A new, yet unannounced handset from Nokia has just made an appearance into the wild, on eBay's German site, with the Nokia N00 Prototype C label attached to it, pointing at a new device to be unveiled in the near future in the company's Nseries.

Specific info on what the handset would turn out to be when made available for purchase on shelves lacks at the moment, but, provided that it would indeed arrive on the market, we might expect it to be the successor of the N86 8MP.

Previous rumors around the Internet suggested that Nokia might consider the release of such a device, called the N87 and codenamed Vasco, but nothing conclusive emerged on this until now.

However, the appearance of this N00 Prototype C device supposedly shows more on the matter, though the “Prototype C” part in its codename is a little strange.

Among the available details on the mobile phone's specifications, we should note the fact that it would arrive on shelves with a 12-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash.

The currently available Nokia N8 packs a similar camera sensor, with auto focus and HD video recording capabilities, and we wouldn't be surprised if this device included them as well.

Below the display, the mobile phone sports a touch-sensitive strip that might easily prove of great help when it comes to zooming or to manual focus when taking a picture or shooting a video.

On the back, the handset sports a kickstand, a feature increasingly common among high-end devices lately, offering users the possibility to set it up on a desk and watch content on its screen.

As stated above, there are no specific details available on what the device is all about, and it might easily prove a fake Nokia phone in the end, as Engadget notes in a recent article.

However, it might also be a real device, which should land on shelves soon, if not removed from Nokia's future plans. For the time being, we'll take this with a grain of salt, and we'll keep an eye out for more info on the device.
