One of the hottest mobile phones that reached the market during the ongoing year is the Nokia N900, an Internet Tablet that went out of the Finnish mobile phone maker's door with the Maemo 5 operating system on board. The handset looks great on the outside, and so does the Maemo platform on its wide touchscreen display, yet there are some people who cannot be happy only with that, so they decided to take a look at what's inside the device, and to catch all the process on video.

The Nokia N900 has been ripped apart by the guys over at tehkseven, who also posted the video we mentioned above, and which can be seen at the bottom of this article. In case there are other enthusiasts out there very curious to learn what the N900 hides behind that large touchscreen display, here's your chance to find out. As it always happens with this type of actions, you shouldn't try it at home, mainly due to the fact that the warranty for the handset is lost.

Here's what the tehkseven guys say about the disassembly process: “For some reason, the screws for the screen required an immense amount of pressure on the screwdriver in order to take them out. To be honest, we thought we were going to puncture the screen! These are not to official disassembly video. However, the steps are nevertheless effective and efficient in performing the disassembly task.”

In case you might not know what exactly the N900 packs inside, we should mention at least the ARM Cortex-A8 CPU and the PowerVR SGX 3D accelerator. For what it's worth, the phone seems to be good looking on the inside too, though, as stated above, we do not recommend for this kind of action to be taken at home. Especially since the Maemo-based handset has been delayed quite a few weeks before finally being released into the wild.
