It's a common fact that Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is aiming at delivering new devices in its high-end N-series to the market, following the recent unveiling of the Nokia N8. One of these handsets was previously rumored to be the Nokia N9, a handset that might have just been confirmed via a video teaser recently spotted into the wild.

Details on the specifications list of the upcoming mobile phone are missing at the moment, though some of the latest reports on the matter suggested that this might actually be the first MeeGo device Nokia is aiming at pushing out on the market. In case the promo video embedded at the bottom of this article proves to be the real deal, it would mean that Nokia might actually announce the phone officially within a couple of months.

According to the guys over at Engadget, the phone teased in the video resembles the already unveiled Nokia N8, which might prove that it is the actual device. Moreover, it also seems to resemble a previously leaked Nokia N98 handset, which sported a great deal of similarities with the N8 that went official from Espoo.

The Nokia N9 is expected to arrive on shelves as the company's flagship device for the ongoing year. A recently spotted document from the manufacturer showed it placed on top of all other mobile phones that would arrive on the market from it in 2010, and the MeeGo platform is one of the appealing features it should include when released.

However, until more info on the matter emerges, we'll take this with a grain of salt. N9 is said to be shaping up as a very appealing high-end device, but specific information on it still lacks. The development on the MeeGo platform, the result of the merger of Nokia's Maemo OS with Intel's Moblin platform, is moving forth pretty fast, and it might not come as a surprise if Nokia N9 indeed lands with it on board.
