Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has announced today that it will introduce at the CTIA Wireless 2009 show in Las Vegas two new mobile phones meant for release in the United States, namely the Nokia E71x, which will become available in the country in the following weeks on AT&T's network, and the Nokia 1661, which is meant to go live with T-Mobile. In addition, the company will also bring along the recently announced Nokia 7205 Intrigue for Verizon, the wildly popular Nokia N97, as well as other mobile phones and accessories.

At the same time, Nokia has also announced that “some of the most recognized mobile developers in the industry will be demonstrating their new S60 on Symbian OS applications,” and that visitors will be able to take a look both at the above mentioned devices as well as at the Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-216 and Nokia Speakerphone HF-510, which are meant for debut at the show.

The Nokia E71x follows the steps of the company's world-renowned Nokia E71, being able to provide a leveraged experience to messaging enthusiasts who are looking for a QWERTY handset that comes in a thin, stylish package. “The E71x is a lean, mean multimedia machine for busy people who want Internet-on-the-go capabilities in the palm of their hands,” said Mark Louison, president, Nokia Inc. “Together with our carrier and industry partners in North America, Nokia continues to enhance the consumer mobile experience through a growing range of QWERTY music, messaging and feature rich devices.”

The Nokia E71x for AT&T comes in a black steel color, featuring a large, high-resolution screen, support for social networking sites and corporate or personal emails, as well as for Mail for Exchange or other services such as Gmail, Yahoo! mail and Hotmail. The handset also includes high-speed 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi capabilities, a built-in music player and a 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus, while the S60 platform it comes with offers access to AT&T services like the AT&T Navigator.

“We are excited to introduce the sleek Nokia E71x into the hands of messaging, social networking and email fans across the United States,” said David Petts, vice president and GM, AT&T Account for Nokia. “The Nokia E71x is building on the success of an award-winning smartphone design, which we are thrilled to bring to an even broader audience across the United States with AT&T.”

The new Nokia 1661 will be announced as coming to T-Mobile USA as an affordable utility device that is able to offer users connectivity at all times. The handset includes a built-in speakerphone, FM radio and flashlight, comes with multitasking capabilities, and preloaded with games like Sudoku or Mobile Soccer, and is said to be included in the carrier's pre-pay offering.
