Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia released at the end of last week a new software version for its Nokia 5800 XpressMusic handset. Although at the time we reported that the new firmware came with a series of improvements, the changelog wasn't available, and only a few of the enhancements were mentioned. This time around, however, the entire list of new features is available, and you can learn in detail what's new.

According to tweakers.net, the new firmware comes with improvements regarding the Standby screen of the handset, as well as with some connected with the call log and contacts, maps, music player, camera, video, web, and others. Compared to the previously available 21.002 flavor of the software, the overall system speed has been improved, as was the stability of the device.

As for the enhancements that have been spotted, it seems that the music player is faster than before, and the same applies to the calling speed of the phone. In addition, the in-call menu shows a Send MMS option, while the loudspeaker maximum volume has decreased. Great speed improvements have been observed with the Maps as well, both when launching them and when navigating through them.

Other changes include speedier scrolling through photos at 100% view and faster access to different menus in the camera, and we also have to mention that the use of the volume keys to zoom while taking photos/recording video is back in the equation. The search application on the device has been reportedly updated from v4.08 to v4.10.0904, and it seems to work faster than before.

As for the web navigation capabilities of the phone, it is faster than before, both when it comes to loading different pages and when accessing the Web menus. The Rotate Screen option acts almost instantaneously now, and some improvements in the Multimedia menu at times when multiple applications are running can be spotted as well. The complete list of changes can be found here.
