Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has just made official a new touchscreen device, the Nokia 5250, which seems to be nothing else but the successor of Nokia 5230, which was released on the market in the United States as the Nuron.

Originally touted several weeks ago, when the company posted some photos with it in the Ovi Store, the Nokia 5250 was announced via the company's Facebook page, where new photos with it were published a few hours ago.

The new Nokia 5250 is expected to come to the market as a music-centric device with touchscreen capabilities, which should offer users great value for their money, Nokia notes.

Among the main features of the new device, we can count the presence of a music player on its homescreen, along with fast access to music download from Ovi Music.

The Nokia 5250 comes with 51MB of on board memory, which is complemented by the inclusion of a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 16GB of additional storage space.

The all-you-can-eat music offering, Ovi Music Unlimited, should be included with the phone in selected markets, which means that the transition from Comes With Music is almost finished and official.

Other features of the new handset include support for social networking sites, including Facebook, MySpace and more, as well as support for multiple email accounts at the same time, including Ovi Mail, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, and other.

The specifications list of this device includes a 2.8-inch TFT screen that boasts a 640 x 360 pixels resolution, a 2-megapixel camera on the back, support for GSM/EDGE networks, GPRS for data, and the Symbian^1 operating system on board.

The 5250 measures 104 x 49 x 14mm and packs a battery that can offer up to 7 hours of talk time or up to 18 days of standby. The battery supports 24 hours of music playback.

Finally, the new Nokia mobile phone comes with FM radio and a free copy of the acclaimed Guitar Hero 5 Mobile: game included into the mix.

According to the handset vendor, the Nokia 5250 should cost €115 before taxes and operator subsidies, and should land on shelves sometime in the fourth quarter of the ongoing year.
