Curious to see how much a revamped DS version of the title will set you back on the Wii?

It was only a matter of time before Nintendo released a brain teaser for their motion-sensing gaming platform as well. And so they did, on the 6th of July this year. Now, according to Washingtonpost.com, Nintendo's Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree is "a variation on the sequel to its hit Nintendo DS franchise with Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree." The game is said to focus on the same categories of tests, which are: visualize, compute, identify, memorize and analyze.

Basically, what has changed is the game's touch-screen recognition? Players will now be inputting commands via their motion-sensing Wii Remotes. The Wii Remote will act as "a pointer for 15 new mini-game challenges. Games range from popping balloons of varying sizes based on numerical order, to guessing a picture that's out of focus, to playing a variation of whack-a-mole. While these challenges sound simple, they're jumbled together and timed for an experience that's anything but easy," the same site reports.

There are some differences, as you can imagine: "While the replay in single-player mode gets more repetitive than the Nintendo DS game, the multiplayer mode holds its own and is great for any social gathering." What's a game like this without multiplayer? Beside, it's a good chance for mom and dad to wake up and realize that there's more to life than the cooker and the TV's remote control. Yes, mom and dad can play the game and have as much fun as youngsters do.

However, as this Wii installment of Big Brain Academy has much more content to offer, you can imagine (again) that the game will be pricey: "The only downside is the price. Nintendo sold millions of Big Brain Academy games on Nintendo DS at $20 apiece. Charging more than double that for a game that doesn't feel as deep may turn off potential buyers," reads the piece up on WashingtonPost.

And they're right. Of course, we understand that making games for the Wii might be just a little trickier than making titles for the DS, but really now. $30 more for a mere couple of adjustments and additions here and there...?
